Our Painting and Staining Services

When you’re deciding which exterior painting or staining company to hire, it’s important to hire a quality contractor with years of experience in this field. We highly recommend not hiring just anyone to “slap a coat on”. Your home’s exterior is the first line of defense against mother nature. That’s a big job, so make sure you’re setting it up for success with a quality contractor who follows the correct steps and uses the best materials.

Oil-Based Staining

Exterior oil-based staining can be applied to wooden surfaces such as siding, fences, and decks. Oil based stains are known for their durability and ability to protect wood from harsh weather conditions, including UV rays, rain, and temperature fluctuations. Unlike water-based stains that sit on the surface, oil-based stains penetrate deep into the wood grain. This deep penetration helps to enhance the natural beauty of the wood and provides long-lasting protection.

Solid Color Staining

Solid color staining is just what it sounds like. It is an oil-based stain that has applies an opaque color to the wood surface, similar to paint. Because the solid color of this stain completely covers the wood grain, they can be helpful in hiding imperfections or stains in the wood. Overall, solid color staining is a versatile and effective way to enhance and protect wood surfaces, providing a durable and attractive finish that can withstand the elements.

Exterior Painting

If you need your siding, fence, deck, or anything else on the exterior of your home painted, we can help. We’re unique in that we specialize in both wood exterior restoration and exterior painting. This means that we can properly repair damaged wood before we paint. Your home’s exterior is critical to keeping Mother Nature outside where she belongs. So, make sure it’s as durable—and beautiful—as possible by hiring a quality exterior paining company like ours.

Wood Restoration

Is your cedar home discolored from organic growth? We would love to restore your cedar home to its natural beauty. Our restoration process involves thoroughly cleaning the cedar to its natural state, then refinishing the cedar or redwood with a stain color or clear water repellant so the cedar wood is preserved and refinished properly.

Exterior Painting and Solid Staining Process

If you’re having your home’s exterior painted or solid stained, it’s important that the correct steps are followed. Doing so will ensure the paint or stain applied keeps your home protected and looking beautiful as long as possible. If these steps are not followed properly, you may end up re-painting or re-staining your home again much sooner than you should. When you hire us to stain or paint your home’s exterior, you can trust that we are doing every detail exactly as it should be done. We’ve included the three basic steps of painting and solid staining process below, so you know what to expect.

Exterior Cleaning

We clean the exterior of your home with a special solution to clear the surface of organic growth and contaminants. This organic growth is often moss or algae, which is “alive”. So, it’s important to not just wash it off, but also to kill it so it doesn’t regrow underneath the new paint or solid stain.

Caulk and Seal Joints

We thoroughly inspect your home’s exterior and identify all and seal all joints. This ensures that all gaps--no matter how big or small—are sealed and won’t allow moisture or pests inside to cause damage. This is one of the many areas where hiring an experienced and quality company like ours makes a huge difference.

Apply Two Coats of Paint or Solid Stain

The style of cedar siding your home has will determine how we apply our coatings for your homes’ specifics needs. We either hand roll and brush apply your new coatings or spray and back-brush your new coating. We make that determination based on the porosity of your homes’ cedar and what profile of siding your home is clad with. Some siding profiles are difficult to roll and brush, which is why we incorporate a high efficiency coating sprayer to help aid in getting the paint or stain into the tighter areas of the homes’ cedar siding.

What Paint or Stain Do We Use?

We use Benjamin Moore exterior finishes for all of our clients’ homes. We have witnessed the test of time and longevity of Benjamin Moore Coatings. Color retention, adhesion, and waterproofing are features you can expect to see when you hire our company to refinish your homes’ cedar siding. We proudly and exclusively offer Benjamin Moore as the leading finish for high performance exterior coatings. When we stain an oil-based cedar or redwood sided home, we use Benjamin Moore , Cabot’s or PPG oil-based stains.
